Studio 40 in Dartington Hall is hosting an exhibition of ceramics of Julia Toy and Alison Hannah. Following an enlightening and inspiring visit to Mashiko, Bizen and Kyoto, Julia and Alison are pleased to share work generated and influenced by their experiences whilst abroad. The exhibition hints at the connection forged with the potters of Japan and Dartington resident and potter Bernard Leach.

The potters have connected once again to produce a themed collection of their work. Under the title “Pour”, you will find works that link their interpretation of the word “Pour”. Expect to find a surprisingly diverse range of ceramics and enjoy.

Inaugural Exhibition
Totnes Potters Inaugural Exhibition:
Current unprecedented challenges faced locally and globally drive the practice of this group of local potters and ceramicists, whose work will be exhibited at their first joint exhibition at the Birdwood House Gallery, Totnes, 24 -29 October 2022 from 10am to 5pm.
The exhibition will include current work by Totnes Potters’ 12 members and reflect their collective and individual interpretation of ‘Centering’. Throwing and hand building with clay offers a rare opportunity for mindful contemplation.
